"Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool" (CHEP) is, by its own definition, the leading provider in the field of pallet and container pooling.
This is why we speak of CHEP pallets. Pooling means that companies purchase pallets for the transport of goods without buying them. After the goods arrive at the customer, CHEP picks up the empty pallets.
This eliminates the need for time-consuming reloading of goods from pallets of different manufacturers and the expensive return transport of empty pallets. The used pallets are then repaired if necessary and then offered again at a reduced price. As CHEP operates more than 440 service centres in over 40 countries, this system works almost worldwide.
